4 Things

4 things...
My first tag! I was tagged by Julie. Here we go...

4 THINGS I WAS DOING 10 YEARS AGO:

1. I was a freshman at Seattle Pacific University and still fervently reading every page assigned and going to bed at a reasonable hour "because I have class in the morning."

2. The foundations of GLOW were being set. The GLOW girls are my friends of a lifetime from SPU and we were just beginning to meet each other and realize how awesome it would be to live 8 girls to a house, 4 girls to a room, 1 rocking Halloween party and not a single chick fight.

3. I was learning the hard way that the cliched high school romance story is true. You are not going to stay together through college and get married...and thats a good thing. My friend Emily and I still laugh about how we were both breaking up with our high school flames at the same time and how funny it was that we thought that was it. We are both married now to great men, whom we didn't date in high school.

4. Ten years ago I was wearing the same puffy, black, down winter coat that I still love.

4 THINGS ON MY TO-DO LIST FOR TODAY:
1. Walk to the new neighborhood "Little Green Grocery Store" and get something fun to add to dinner. I found some incredible cheese and a polka dot bottle of wine!

2. Visit my old condo and check to see if the carpet cleaning did its job {It didn't}

3. Sew on the button that popped off of my husband shorts. Let it be noted that it was merely a weak button, they button did not pop due to extreme gravitational pull.

4. Contact the Oregon Zoo to see about having a corporate Christmas party there. Turns out there is actually a date in December still available!

4 RANDOM THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY HUSBAND:
1. His eyes, his dimples, his lips....this may sound schmoopy but hey, we're still newlyweds! 6 months next Sunday!

2. They way he wears a pair of scrubs. I tell him that as far as I'm concerned his days look just like McDreamy's. He, of course in all humbleness, tells me that its not like that and he's not noticed that much. Then I met him for lunch once at his office cafeteria and the lunch lady says to me "Oh you're Dr. Benson's new wife...well I guess McDreamy is off the market."

3. They way he believes I can do whatever I want to do and refuses to let me settle for less.

4. How he loves my Pollyanna-esque approach to life. I am eternally optimistic and often people will assume me to be ignorant or to be ignoring the cold hard truths about reality, when in truth I choose to be this happy. And Daren loves me that way!

4 JOBS I HAVE HAD:
1. Janitor for the school district. Yes, I was a janitor the summer I graduated from high school. The job sucked but I can clean now like nobodys business!

2. Waitress at Red Robin. I still sing the birthday songs to my friends every year.

3. Manager of an Alzheimer and Dementia Care Unit. I loved the residents! It is assumed that when a person has Alzheimer's they just disappear, but they so don't. These people have feelings and romances, fears and favorites, and memories- at least stories they believe to be a memory in the moment. The relationships you create with these people while you are there is so interesting and moving and unpredictable. I was only punched in the face twice.

4. Event and Promotions Coordinator. I love planning and packaging events. The combination of a creative mind and a business mind is strategic, fast paced, and all around awesome.

.4 MOVIES I HAVE WATCHED MORE THAN ONCE:
1. Singing in the Rain

2. How to Lose a Guy in 1o Days

3. Shag

4. Anchor Man

4 PLACES I HAVE LIVED:
1. Pendleton Oregon. Home of the Buckaroos.

2. Salamanca Spain- one summer in college

3. Sherman Oaks, California- the longest 18 months of my life.

4. Seattle Washington- one of my three favorite cities

4 PLACES I HAVE BEEN:
1. Tahiti for our dream honeymoon

2. Ketichcan Alaska- for a wrestling tourment my brother was in during high school.

3. NCY baby. I, too, heart New York.

4. Dublin Ireland- mutton anyone?

4 PLACES I WANT TO VISIT:
1. Venice.

2. Where my parents lived in Germany

3. Sally in Nashville

4. Rome

4 TV SHOWS I WATCH:
1. Pushing Daisies

2. Grey's Anatomy

3. The Today Show

4. Two and a half men

4 THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME:
1. In junior high my mom had me write about a 3 page list of everything I wanted in a husband. She found the list two months after Daren and I were married and sent it do Daren in the mail. He matched all but two! He's not a musical dynamo and he is actually taller than I had specified.

2. I eat vegetables now.

3. I have shared dessert with one man and one man only. Its how my Dad knew I was going to marry this man.

{ If those of you who have known me well have a sudden urge to duck in order to not get hit by a wayward snowball flying in from hell, fear not. Hell has not, in fact, frozen over. I just got married. Who knew?}

4. My dog is my longest running relatinship to date. Six years and no breakups!

4 people I tag...
1. My Mom

2. Emily King Wing

3. Kara Studlow

4. Katie's In Italy

Awesome, Sarah! Good answers, good answers. I'll get right on mine probably tomorrow. How was the polka dot wine, I'm curious to know?

Sarah I remeber your janitoring days...sad to say I can actually remember that. I can also remember doing Tae Bo in your livingroom....amazingly enough, I don't think I can get my leg that high anymore. :) (Might be due to the large mass in my mid-section?)

You eat vegetables??!!! I can't believe it! One of my all time favorite Sarah memories is going to the Spaghetti Factory with you and you ordered the chicken fettucine without the broccoli and the mushrooms! Way to go!
